For questions 6-10, mark the correct letter (A-H) on your answer sheet.

PEOPLE

6.Anwar is 17 and wants to encourage his friends to get involved in local environmental issues. He wants someone to come and give a talk at his college.

7.Leila is concerned about pollution, especially the damage caused by the number of cars and buses in her area. She wants a cheap way to get to work without needing to catch a bus.

8.Emma is interested in the ways energy will be supplied in the future. She wants to visit an exhibition to find out about ways she can save energy around the house.

9.Jiro is worried about the effect of his petrol car on the environment. He wants to learn about ways he can produce less pollution while travelling, but he needs to drive every day for work.

10.Milos has elderly grandparents who would like to start recycling. He wants to find a project involving local people who find it difficult to travel.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS

A.Home Pick Up
Stuck at home? No transport? Things too heavy to carry? Don´t throw anything away! We´ll collect all your rubbish, from newspapers, glass bottles and cans, to old furniture. You´re welcome to come to our visitor centre and tell us who you think we can help in your area.

B.Your environment
Contact our educational organisation if you would like to know more about helping the environment in your local area. A typical visit from one of our experts includes a short speech and discussion, as well as plenty of brochurres to help you advertise in your neighbourhood.

C.Share your car
Are you anxious about pollution? Looking for ways to save energy? If you only travel occasionally, our car sharing project is the answer! Just borrow one of our cars when you need to make a long journey and you can save petrol and money.

D.Environmental Science Week
During the week, the local museum will focus on how we will be heating our homes, running our cars and growing our food 50 years from now. The display will include many ideas you can use at home today so come along and collect some information.

E.The future is here!
This week, the city´s three biggest garages are joining together to organise an exhibition of the latest environmentally friendly transport ideas. From clean, affordable fuels, to brand new models and even electric vehicles, there´ll be something there for everyone!

F. Neighbourhood Collection
Next month we´re collecting old computers in your area – the more we recycle, the more money we can put back into local projects. But remember, we can only pick up electrical items. Please, don´t leave paper, glass bottles or metal cans for us to collect!

G.City Geographical Society
Interested in the environment? Keen to support an international project? Come to our series of talks on global warming at the town hall this month, and learn more about this important issue. All money from tickets sales goes to research companies around the world.

H.Cycling Made Easy
If you´re worried about the journeys you make using public transport, why not use our free cycle service? Register your name with us, collect your bike, cycle to your destination and leave the bike for someone else to use. Perfect for those making short, regular journeys.
